About Shane

Shane O'Hara grew up in country New South Wales, in a family with a long connection to old buildings. His grandfather was a bricklayer in the Hunter Valley, and childhood weekends often meant exploring heritage pubs and old homesteads around Maitland and Cessnock. That early interest in how places were built stayed with him.

After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Built Environment / Heritage Conservation) at the University of Western Sydney, Shane spent his early working life in the Blue Mountains before moving to Sydney for larger heritage masonry projects. At Stoneline Heritage, he runs projects across Sydney and works alongside Andrzej Wiśniewski on site, particularly on larger or delicate jobs.

Shane still visits his parents in the Blue Mountains, where they have not quite forgiven him for trading the mountains for the city. Away from work, he follows rugby league, backs the Newcastle Knights and enjoys a bushwalk when he gets the chance. His two primary-school-aged children keep the rest of his weekends well occupied.
